The plains of the Páramo region will take to incredible views of the plateau that it extends endlessly before us. You will discover unknown Romanesque jewel, such as the church of San Martín de Frómista.
León, one of the most awaited final stages, will surprise you with its excellent gastronomy and its well-preserved monuments: tapas in the Barrio Húmedo, visiting the gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria and its impressive stained glass windows, or enjoying "The Sistine Romanesque Chapel" in the crypt of the Basilica of San Isidoro, will put the finishing touch to this journey.

    Burgos

    Night at Burgos

    When you arrive in Burgos, we recommend you visit its most emblematic monuments, including the Cathedral of Santa María la Mayor, a magnificent representative of the Gothic style, recognised as a National Monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nor should you miss the Monastery of Santa María la Real de Las Huelgas, the Carthusian Monastery of Santa María de Miraflores, the Church of San Gil Abad, the Monastery of San Juan and the Archbishop's Palace, among others.

    From Burgos to Hornillos del Camino

    Starting from the portico of the Cathedral, you will leave Burgos behind to enter the first of many stages that run through flat and solitary lands, a very typical landscape of Castilla y León.

    From Hornillos del Camino to Castrojeriz

    This is an austere and straightforward section of the route that takes you into the deepest and most authentic parts of the Castilian countryside.
    Before leaving the province of Burgos, you will have the opportunity to stay in Castrojeriz, where you can visit the Collegiate Church of Santa María del Manzano.

    From Castrojeriz to Frómista

    A stage for lovers of peace and silence, you will continue the route crossing more plains until you reach Frómista, a town famous for its Church of San Martín, a World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture.

    Fields and more fields of cereals await you during the short route of this stage, which runs along the Via Aquitana.
    You will finish your route in Calzadilla de la Cueza, birthplace of the famous legend of the Golden Hen.

    From Calzadilla de la Cueza to Sahagún

    Night at Sahagún

    22 km

    4 - 5 h

    In this stage you will leave the province of Palencia and officially enter the lands of León. On this occasion, the route is marked by the Calzada del Coto and Calzadilla de los Hermanillos until you reach Sahagún, a pretty village where Mudejar-style architecture predominates.

    From Sahagún to Burgo Ranero

    Night at El Burgo Ranero

    4 - 5 h

    Starting from Sahagún, many people take advantage of this stage to take it easy and enjoy the route, as the route to the next point is short and easy to cover in a few hours.
    The route runs along the Calzada del Coto until you reach El Burgo del Ranero, where you can visit several Romanesque churches.

    From Burgo Ranero to Mansilla de las Mulas

    This is a stretch that most pilgrims try to complete as quickly as possible, because although it is an easy stage, you will not find great attractions along the way.

    You've finally arrived in León!
    The highlight of this stage is undoubtedly the visit to this capital, which has many charms to offer you, such as its cathedral, the Casa Botines or the Palacio de los Guzmanes.
