Stages of the Premium French Way from Sarria with night in Melide
Day 1 - Sarria
Night at Sarria
Upon arriving in Sarria, we invite you to explore its streets and monuments, where you can begin to feel the essence of the Camino. This charming town offers corners full of history that are worth knowing, such as the Monastery of La Magdalena or the ruins of the Castle.
Enjoy a walk through the Parque do Chanto or relax with a coffee in the center.
Day 2 - From Sarria to Portomarín
Night at Portomarín
22,2 km
5 horas
You will start this journey on quiet paths that wind through majestic centuries-old oaks and granaries full of history. Portomarín, located on the banks of the Miño River, houses treasures such as the church of San Nicolás, carefully moved from its original location after the Belesar reservoir flooded the old town.
Day 3 - From Portomarín to Palas de Rei
Night at Palas de Rei
24,8 km
6 horas
After leaving Portomarín behind, the path ascends towards the Serra de Ligonde. Along the way, you can discover the villages of Gonzar and Castromaior, where you will find the charming Romanesque church of Santa María. Further on, the route descends until reaching Palas de Rei, home to the renowned castle of Pambre, a fortress dating back to the 14th century.
Day 4 - Fron Palas de Rei to Melide
Night at Melide
14,4 km
3 horas
In this route, the longest stage is divided into two sections. Starting from Palas, the path ascends through beautiful trails that will lead you to Melide. Here you can taste the famous pulpo «á feira», a dish you can't miss.
Day 5 - From Melide to Arzúa
Night at Arzúa
14,1 km

Thanks to the short distance to our next stop, we will be able to calmly explore some of the picturesque villages of the Camino, such as Boente and Castañeda, before arriving in Arzúa.
Day 6 - From Arzúa to O Pino
Night at O Pino
17,7 km
4 horas
The stage begins with a descent that crosses enchanted forests and small streams, creating a dreamlike environment. It is an easy stretch where you can stop to visit the chapel of Santa Irene or the church of Santa Eulalia de O Pedrouzo.
Day 7 - From O Pino to Santiago De Compostela
Night at Santiago de Compostela
22 km
5 horas
You will arrive at the end of your journey passing through Lavacolla and the Gozo Mountains, from where you can observe the towers of the cathedral.
